The picture above shows two American firms (Starbuck and McDonald’s) which are deeply implanted in the world market. These firms are seen by some people like the influence of the American imperialism. Even if these datas are not recent, nowadays these two firms are still deeply implanted in the globalisation.
3) The environmental issues:
“Trade and the environment are related at the most basic level, because all economic activity is based on the environment” (iisd, 2005). It can be because all the inputs needed to the production come from nature such as metals, minerals, forests or fisheries or because the productions need energy which is derived from the environment.
According the CIA world fact book (2013), Italy suffers from Air pollution from industrial emissions such as sulphur dioxide, coastal and inland rivers polluted from industrial and agricultural effluents, acid rain damaging lakes, inadequate industrial waster treatment and disposal facilities. In France, the problems are that some forests are damaged from acid rain. There is air pollution from industrial and vehicle emissions, water pollution from urban waster and agricultural runoff.

When we see this graph, we can think that it is good because the curves tend to decrease. Moreover, France has kept its commitment made in the Kyoto protocol. Indeed, during the Protocol, the France had promised to return to the 1990 level of Co2 emissions in 2012 and to reduce by 4 its Co2 emissions in 2050 (Insee, 2012). In 1990 France emitted 399 028 kt of Co2 and in 2010 361 272 kt of Co2 (World Data Bank, 2014). Nevertheless, a report of the ecologic minister (2008 in Magdeleine 2010) attributes this decrease to two factors: the economic stagnation and the delocalisation of major emitting industrial activities. It gives the illusion of a success to its international commitments but in reality the French gas emissions are actually increasing. This report can also be adapted to Italy, which was strongly affected by the crisis too.
IV) Conclusion:
We have seen that with the globalisation, the international trade has increased in the past decades. Trade brings goods things because it permits to meet the need of a country, to create job, to attract more investments. Nevertheless there are also drawback to the trade like the cultural and environmental issues and the support of non-democratic systems.
