Day 10 – Kolkata and Bhubhaneshwar

Today we will spend an entire day in the West Bengal state capital, Kolkata. This British colonial city is today a great city where you could feel the pulse of Bengal’s great culture. In the morning we will take you to visit the 10 000 places mosque, Nakhoda Mosque. Built in 1926, this mosque is very impressive with its two minarets of 46 meters high and well as its onion shaped dome. Then we will visit the oldest place of Christian worship in Kolkata, the Holy Nazareth church. Built in 1764, this Armenian Church represents the religious diversity of the city. After lunch, we will drive around colonial Kolkata and the visit will include St. Paul’s cathedral, the Indian museum, the Victoria Memorial and the South Park Street Cemetery. After dinner, a fast train will take us to the city of Bhubhaneshwar in only an hour. There we will check in to our hotel and the evening will be for you to rest. Overnight is in Bhubhaneshwar.

Day 11 - Bhubhaneshwar

Today we will visit many temples as Bhubhaneshwar is a temple town. We will take you to visit the most impressive of them all; Linjiraj Temple, Mukteswar Temple and Parsurameswar Temple. After lunch, we will take some rest at the well-known Atri’s hot sulphur baths. There you could enjoy the warm water and its medicinal properties. To stay in the mood, the rest of the day is for you to enjoy the lagoon at our hotel, to try one of many restaurants around or why not eat some typical roadside food, which is very popular in India. Overnight is in Bhubhaneshwar.

Day 12 – Bhubhaneshwar – Konark – Puri

In the morning we will leave Bhuhbaneshwar to go to Puri. On our way, we will stop by the city of Konark to visit one of Unesco’s world heritage site, the Sun Temple. This incredible temple has been conceived as a chariot of the sun god with 24 wheels, each about 10 feet in diameter, with elaborate carvings. After the visit, we will continue our way to Puri. We will first check in to our beach side hotel and then we will spend the rest of the day to our private beach. For dinner, the Aquarium themed restaurant of our hotel will let us taste to their seafood specialities or some great Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisine. Overnight is in Puri.

Day 13 – Puri

This morning, we will visit the most respected and visited temple in the country, the Lord Jagannath Temple. Built during the 12th century, this Hindu Temple is sacred and many pilgrims go there each year to receive the blessing of Lord Jagannath. In the afternoon, we will go back to our hotel and spend another afternoon at Sea Beach. There you could enjoy the sun, shop in the area or go to swim in the sea. If you prefer, the hotel’s pool is for you to get pleasure from, as well as the spa services. Tonight, we will celebrate the end of our tour and enjoy a banquet all together, in the hotel hall that is going to be all set for us. Overnight is in Puri.

Day 14 – Puri to Bhubhaneswar

This morning, we will drive you to Bhubhaneshwar airport. From there, you will fly to Delhi international airport.

Day 15 – Board you flight back to Montreal

At 00:15, you will board you flight with American Airlines (no 293) to Chicago. There you will transfer at 7:35, on another American Airlines flight (no 4438) to Montreal. Arrival will be at 10:35.
