I’m going to talk about the notion of Spaces and Exchanges with some examples. First I will try to explain this notion. This notion focuses on the geographical areas and the interactions between people and different societies. It’s composed of two parties; Space is that there are around us, it can be a place, a country ... And the exchange represents the various interactions that may be either a cultural interaction, between people, on different countries, on different languages. The exchange may represent the contribution that there may be a country to another, that process represents the exchange (to give and to receive). The notion of spaces and exchanges requires the movement of people or cultures between countries through immigration, tourism and trade.

To try to introduce the notion, I will take some examples which will allow us to see its aspects. First I will take a case that I have seen in class, study abroad. Perform these studies abroad is good as bad, that is to say that one can go in an unknown country to discover new things like food, culture, religion, she has different compared to other countries or in relation to our country. But finding out presents difficulties because going to a foreign country can be tough because foreign persons sometimes have a strange reaction, they want to touch us or they look at us differently because we are different from them. There are even sometimes a racism creation. This example refers to tourism and Immigration made to the traveling from one country to the other.

I will take another example, Internet. Internet is useful today because it is a medium of exchange in various area: information sharing such as sharing pictures, music, videos, and work documents. It allows you to meet people via chat or social networks (Facebook, Twitter ...). Internet allows us to avoid the movement to perform tasks, all can perform for our home, for example work at home, shop online. It facilitates communication between people to get messages through emails. However the Internet has a disadvantage because by limiting travel and using the Internet, it reduces the autonomy of people and encourages them to become independent of the Internet. Also the communication on social networks is not the same as face communication, we do not know who is at the end of the conversation. This example refers to the exchange between people in relation to communication.

In conclusion, we can say that this notion allows to travel and discover the different spaces and different means of exchange. It also permits that cultural, economic, sociological and linguistic interactions have changed and characterized the world of today.

The notion of space and exchange was very interested because it allows me to see what is happening, what other countries can make, the changes being made and what new cultures nowadays.
