Réponses elliptiques

En anglais, au lieu de répondre à une question simplement

par oui ou par non, on ajoute le plus souvent à ces mots

une réponse elliptique, c'est-à-dire un pronom sujet

(you, he, she) + LE VERBE (ici "have got") qui apparaît dans

la question.

- Si la question est formulée au moyen de "have got", la réponse

elliptique sera formulée au moyen de "have".

- Have they got a video recorder ? Yes, they have.

- Has Alison got her ticket ? Yes, she has.

- Have you got any money ? No, I haven't.

- Has Andrew many friends ? Yes, I think he has.

N.B. On ne peut pas employer la forme contractée
