There is a Mural painted by street artist Mr. Brainwash who portraying Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King and Barack Obama. They are African American iconic figures, mlk receive a peace Nobel price in 1964. MLK and RP fight for equality. Because of that they can be considered as heroes. Barack Obama since he is the first black president of the USA is seen as a hero by many as well. This painting show three heroes who fought for their dreams to come true (speech of MLK “I have a dream”). There is an inscription on the wall which says “Rosa Parks sat, so that MLK could walk. MLK Jr walked so that B.O could run. BO ran, so we could fly. The artist endeavors to encourage people to follow their dream too. Like the American dream who means that everything is possible if you really want it and work for it. Rosa parks is considered as a national heroin and her statue at the Capitol is a way to acknowledge her role in America’s history.
Conclusion:
We saw the influence of myth and heroes in our choice of careers or life. They are dream jobs which inspired us and iconic figures people who give us motivation to change the vision of the world in our society. However, even if you may get some inspiration from mythical stories and iconic figures, in the end you will have to face reality and do your best to make your dreams come true. Look at all the student from the world that came to U.S to study at University. For example Indra Nooyi who came to study at Yale. She worked her way up to become “PepsiCo’s Chairman” and CEO in 2007. She was named the 1st powerful woman in business in 2010 by Fortune magazine.
