-The opposition of light(a) and darkness(b)

Light and darkness are two symbols, two atmosphere that appear throughout the book. Light represented by fire,sun,light,spark are related to elements of knwoledge or life and hope. On the other hand Darkness is present with bad weather, violence, the creature and death. But we saw in the book that too much of that light and it turnes to be worst. Ex : a simple spark doesnt do anything, but thunder and lightning gived life to the creature. It is really close to the gothic genre. There is also a similitude with the legend of Icare, if you go to close to the sun ( knowledge in the book ) you burn your wings and crash.
