but because I didn’t want to look or be like everyone
else. When in a crowd, I would stand up for issues that I believed in.
In addition, I have a loud voice and an expressive personality that I inherited
from my mother. I admire my mother as she is very active in our church
community and people look up to her for solution to various problems. My father
always says that: “do not spare the effort to do good things, it will always
pay and achieve your potential but not at the expense of the group”. What I
gained from my father is a logical mind, the capacity to break things apart or
unbundle complex ideas and be able to put them back together in a different
but value added manner.
My brother is the polar opposite to me, he also had a logical mind and the same
thinking process, but as opposed to me he is calm and not as physically strong
as I am. When I was younger, I disliked him heavily for the reason that he is
always trying to be like me. Today, he and my sister are two of my most

my mother didn’t help matters. In addition, during this period after school I
would go to my grandmother’s house, which is near the British School and she
would give me loads of sweets. At the time, my best friend in Togo was a
basketball player in the school team. He told me that if I want us to still be
friends, I should be fit and a decent basketball player. I took the challenge
as I value the friendship. The first practices were like torture, but after a
while I progressed and it became a habit to play every day. After 3 months,
I was fit and I am really grateful to my friend for the change he brought
into me and the way he challenged me. I was always confident in myself, but
being a better athlete made me more confident.
In summary, I think that with the rich and diverse environment where I lived in
and the various experiences I went through, I am well equipped to tackle the
many and diverse challenges that the world is bringing, starting with the
university life that I am going to embrace with a lot of
