explicit of the woman « You hand, your tongue ; look like the innoncent flower, but be the serpent under it ». The snake being an animal know for its flaws, this metaphor is very clear and shows very well the game Lady Macbeth. The wife of Macbeth, presented initially as a secondary character actually turns out to be a very important person in the play. Indeed, Lady has initiated the cruel and machiavellian transformation of Macbeth.

For my personnal document, I chose the poster of the film adaptation of Macbeth. There have been many adaptations at different times but I chose that of Justin Kurzel in 2015. The actors who embody the difficult roles of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. I chose this document because

Secondly, we are going to study the consequences of the transformation of Macbeth and his wife. Macbeth, after killing the king, lives in the fear of being discovered as I said earlier. Because of this fear, Macbeth becomes nasty, violent and vicious. At the end of the first scene of the act III, Macbeth has no difficulty in persuading two men to kill his friend Banquo and his son, Fleance. Then, the two men set a trap to Banquo and Fleance but the son manages to escape. This scene show really good the transformation of Macbeth. He is capable of killing his friend who was with him when he meet the witches in order to keep his title of king. Macbeth is obsessed with power and becomes cruel for it. Macbeth is not the only one who change, his wife, Lady Macbeth too. Indeed, Lady Macbeth after all that becomes a somnambulist, she has hallucinations. She believes that she always had blood on their hands of the mortal wounds of King Duncan. So, we can say that Lady Macbeth becomes almost crazy after losing his humanity. Lady Macbeth puts an end to his days because of his hallucinations.

To conclude, we can notice a clear transformation in the character of Macbeth but also in Lady Macbeth. Macbeth is plagued by the fear of being discovered and that someone steals his throne and Lady Macbeth is plagued by guilt and remorse. At first, the two thought it was wonderful profecy and that their lives would be nice as king and queen but that does not happen as expected. Lady Macbeth, despite his rare appearances, is very present and has a vital rôle in this play, she is the brain of Macbeth.
