Spaces and forms of power: what is the legitimacy to Gender Equality within the different powers?

Clinton is the 1st woman of the USA who presents her candidature to the Presidential race. We can take an other example which is a French one: Simone Veil has contributed to the evolution of the mentalities of her time. About Margaret Thatcher, she had to overcome a lot of pressure from men in Parliament. She always had a lot of influence thanks to her insubordination. She was deemed as a stubborn woman who has never given up.

This women make things change. Margaret Thatcher started from scratch. They have done things that they were told it would be impossible. Originally they fought for themselves. They fought stereotypes. They needed self-confidence and they also needed kind of support, but before anything else, they have believed in their ideas. Those women use their knowledge in order to be listened. They have had or they still have the power to change things with the strongest, the most efficient weapon: words.

Everyone should be able to choose the life which he wishes to live, as well as a man or as a woman. Gandhi said: “Man and woman, each is complementary to the other”. That is to say that our differences should be our forces. In other words, this means that it should not be the way to degrade the other. If the legitimacy to Gender Equality can always be challenged, one thing is certain, powerful like Margaret Thatcher, Hillary Clinton or Simone Veil have understood one thing which is really important: “your weapons are words”.
